What is the Actual Color of Gasoline?

Although it may sound strange but pure gasoline is a Water White liquid, but why then the gasoline we use daily is colored red, or green etc.
Actually the colors we see are the colors of dyes added to gasoline for its grading. These dyed fuels are legal requirement in some countries e.g. a yellow dyed fuel is premium unleaded Petrol in Australia. For details Click Here. This method of dyeing has been in use since 1920s but recently some countries have abandoned this practice and on the spot quality check from time to time has been adopted as an alternate.
